After a day of indulging in multiple frozen food goodies, such as frozen burritos, hot dogs, and etc... I decided I needed more structure. Something easy to implement. But not hard to follow. I also can't get hungry. Once I get hungry, I lose all will power. Enter Atkins.
Day 1 of Atkins.
I keep looking up information regarding ketosis, lipolysis, and low carb. I even checked out a Paleo diet book... So far my conclusion is that it's all stupid. And most likely, I'm going to lose SOME weight on atkins... but the real test is when I start reintroducing carbs. Am I REALLY going to say goodbye to rice? Fruit? Dessert?! FOREVER?!?!?!?! At least Atkins allows legumes... Paleo doesn't even allow beans? How can such a restricted diet by healthy and well rounded?
I am drinking a lot of water... and am visiting the bathroom more than ever. at least getting up to pee is giving me something to do. It's a slow day at work... And boredom usually leads to snacking. -_-
Day 2 of Atkins.
I think I've lost at least 2-3 pounds now. I'm sure it's just the glycogen working its way out my body. Therefore it's all just 'water weight' which will return with a vengeance as soon as I eat a bowl of rice.
Surprisingly, I'm not really craving carbs yet. It was annoying when I had to stop myself when I reached for a piece of fruit, or a cup of juice. And I was sorely tempted to help the children finish their leftovers. But I've had 5 low-carb meals, and so far I'm still alive and not too grouchy. I also am not hungry. It's 12:15, and I haven't experienced any hunger pains yet.
Breakfast:
2 eggs, a generous sprinkle of cheese, and some Kielbasa.
Lunch:
Crockpot salsa chicken with peas and carrots and zucchini, and some roasted brussel sprouts. Yes I know that carrots aren't very low carb... but it's better than rice right? BTW, crockpot salsa chicken is nasty. Next time I will simply roast chicken and put salsa on top.
Dinner:
I have no idea what I'm going to eat.
Here's my ultimate plan. If I can lose 25 pounds on Atkins... then I start reintroducing SOME carbs. I fully expect to gain 5 pounds back as my body replenishes it's glycogen. But if I can maintain for 2 months... Then I can start working on having a baby. But maybe I will have to be fully low carb from now on. Meaning... like... 100g a day from now on?
